VA District Lay Retreat

“Zoe to the Max Enjoying Your Life
As Much As God Wants You To!"

2008 Lay Retreat
Crowne Plaza Williamsburg at Fort Magruder
March 7-9, 2008

We are excited about the plans for the 2008 Virginia Nazarene Lay Retreat on March 7-9, 2008, at the Crowne Plaza Williamsburg at Fort Magruder in Williamsburg.  Dr. Tracy Spaur, a lay staff member and teaching pastor at Richmond Southside Church of the Nazarene, will be our speaker for the retreat.  Rev. Steve Holmgren, the worship pastor at Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene in Waynesboro, Virginia, will be leading us in an exciting time of music and worship.

Since rooms are always limited, we encourage you to register early.  The registration deadline is February 12, 2008 (or earlier if all the rooms are reserved).  We would like to remind you that for accounting and labor purposes, your registration deposit is non-transferable and non-refundable.

The cost of the retreat, which includes 2 night’s accommodations, Saturday breakfast buffet, Saturday evening banquet, and Sunday breakfast buffet, is as follows:

$162.50

per person double occupancy

$325.00

per couple

$240.00

single occupancy

$155.00

per person triple occupancy

$150.00

If you have any registration questions, call John & Cheryl Haynes at 804-785-2227.

Each church should have a contact person.  If your church does not have one, please contact Nicole Ware (540-879-9955 or email Wares4Jesus@verizon.net) if you would be willing to be a local church contact.  Be a promoter in your church and pray for the retreat.

Dr. Spaur is a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University and of the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry.  He has recently led lay retreats in Pennsylvania, Indiana, North Carolina, and Georgia and has been a featured speaker and singer at churches all across Virginia.

MUSICIAN

Rev. Steve Holmgren

Steve has been involved in music ministry since 1985, both on church staff and traveling in evangelism in 42 states, Canada, and the Bahamas.  He loves worshipping the Lord through the powerful tool of music.  It paves the way, sets the table for us to receive the Word of God.  Praise and worship is more than a song – it is a lifestyle.  Steve says, “To think that God can use a farm boy from Minnesota to serve Him is amazing.  If He can use me, He can use anybody.”

Steve and Michelle have been married since 1988 and are currently serving as Minister of Music at Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene in Waynesboro.
