Barbara Rhodes is starting a support group in Culpeper for all ostomates. Meeting on the 2nd Sunday of every month at 1:30 pm in the Culpeper County Library Conference Room. Barbara is a surviving ostomate having had an ileostomy with no nursing assistance following surgery. Once she regained her strength she attended the Ostomy Support Group of Northern Virginia in Fairfax, which was the only location near Culpeper. By trial, error, and research she was able to overcome this new and challenging way of life.

Ostomates can share personal experiences with each other to help them face each new hurdle. Barbara is available to contact day or night, with any questions or help you may need with every day care, maintenance, or long term care. Numerous resources are available which she is happy to share with you. The support group is affiliated with United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc. (UOAA).
