Location: The Virginia District Nazarene Camp is located near Buckingham and Dillwyn. From Hwy. 60 take Rte. 690, which runs behind Buckingham Middle School. The camp entrance is across from the school.

UPDATE:  On Monday night of each camp we will focus on Invisible Children raising awareness (and money) to help fight against the child soldiers in Ugand.  We'll watch the newest movie, and then engage in discussions on our role in being a part of the solution.  We want to remind students that we will be taking up a collection on this night, as well as selling merchandise, with all proceeds going to Invisible Children.  Your students will want to bring some extra money to help be a part of this special night.

Also, new to Kingdom09 will be the first ever Buckinghammers, our very own awards show. Leaders and students should plan on bringing some "creative formal wear" for the evening.  We're encouraging everyone to bring tacky, cheap, and fun attire to wear to the Buckinghammers on Tuesday night.  The tackier the better....so get ready to celebrate Buckingham style.

Pastors, Youth Leaders, & Parents,

Greetings! We are gearing up for another great summer for the Virginia
District NYI. In the midst of all that churches and families have planned,
we understand it can be a very busy season. With all that can fill up our
schedules, we understand the importance of focusing on what is most
important. That is why we are passionate about making our summer
camps a valuable time for youth leaders and their students. This year’s
camp, Kingdom 09, will be a great opportunity to challenge your
students to grow in their journey.

So what should students expect at Kingdom 09? It will be all about
experiencing the kingdom of God and exploring what that means for us
today. Students can expect to be engaged in discussion, in worship,
and other hands on activities that we will use throughout the week to
challenge ourselves and grow together on our journey. The week will
consist of worship, small groups, crazy games, video games, swimming,
skating, and more.

An important part of this year’s camp will be adult involvement. The
purpose for our time together is not to create an invent, but to partner
with local ministries to continue a spiritual journey in the lives of
students. It is critical that every church sends a youth pastor or leader to attend with the students from their church. This helps to ensure that the journey that happens at camp does not end there, but can continue
beyond that week.

We hope you will plan on joining us this July for Kingdom 09. For more
information you can email us at info@kingdom09.com or check out our
website, www.kingdom09.com. We are excited about this opportunity to
partner with churches around the district to see students take steps on
their journey.

God bless,
The Kingdom 09 Team
